A brief introduction to our courses. We run four courses in total: Computer vision (CV) 1+2 and Machine Learning (ML) 1+2. Each course is, more or less, stand-alone. However, it is recommended to sit first CV 1 and then CV 2, and also to sit first ML 1 and then ML 2. Students who would like to get a deeper theoretical understanding of the material are recommended sit Machine Learning 1+2, and students who are more interested in algorithms and applications are recommended to sit Computer Vision 1+2. There is no harm in sitting all four courses ;-) For doing a project in our lab, ranging from Komplexpraktikum to Diplomarbeit, it is recommended to sit either CV 1+2, or ML 1+2. If you plan to do a PhD (Doktorarbeit) in our lab then it is highly recommended to sit ML 1+2.
